F. I’m as busted up as anyone that this is their final album, but that hasn’t stopped me from laughing myself sick over the fact that the best punk song I’ve heard in ages really only has one chord and gives place of prominence to the lines
“I’m not using my degree/ I’m not doing shit with the 4 years that I spent at Uni”. WTF. Godspeed, Dograts. Favorite track: Sunday Morning.

I'm watching adults in a wading pool On a deck on the Bund, and it's covered in sand And these white pricks they call it a beach party Whilst they vaguely listen to Conrank DJ Sp I escape to a near empty bar at the Cool Docks And I listen to these two guys who've been in China for 6 years And still can't speak a word of Chinese and they're comforting each other That those four tones are just impossible And no one here believes in good will And taxi drivers don't understand them when they speak in perfect Chinese and their girlfriend is different cos she studied overseas And cafe culture has swallowed everyone that I've ever known Seen so many friends sucked under the brain dead spell With every Sunday morning is the same as the last Meeting in cafes near the park so they can talk about good coffee and where they can get good coffee and who they last had good coffee with and how bad they need a good coffee and which shit box cuntrag place on Yongkang Lu does the best shit coffees for 37RMB whilst their French friend sits adjacent to them, bouncing a newborn on their knee and I'm not using my degree. I'm not doing anything with my four years at Uni I'm not doing shit for anyone else ever again Last night I fucked a farmers son He pushed right up inside me so that I could feel him cum and you don't get that in clinics and wait rooms Having country boy seed fill up your city womb And we're both running from our HECS debts and every Flora Hill student that we ever met and anyone who is exhausting to be around, especially if they're from our hometown.

Blue Dress 05:29
And I load it upstairs, just to load it downstairs and I load it in to a windowless room for 60RMB an hour So I can feel some power, so I can try some ideas So I can put words over beats that will be forgotten by the end of the year. And I untangle leads, yell until my throat bleeds Breathe in the mould and replace broken strings That I bought the day before and carried home in the storm Put in the guitar case with pliers and band aids And we practice the set, try to pick our best songs Check what time we’re expected there and what time we’re on Tangle the leads again and load it upstairs Drag it home over worn out bones just to get it on stage But the girl in the blue dress, keeps talking through my set And the louder I go, well the louder she gets And I stare at my frets, try to put one or two together that could help me, help me, help me to connect But no matter who I am or where I’m going or what I’ve seen I guess I’ll never impress, the girl with the blue dress. They said sound check was at 6, but I get there at 5 and why the fuck is the first band still sound checking at a quarter to 9? Watch them play the same beats and try to find time to eat But they promise they’ll be done soon as I slump in my seat Sitting in a shadowed corner when the organiser said Let’s wait for more bodies, let’s wait for more heads Let’s wait, let’s wait, let’s wait for more crowd Walk on stage and hope our songs make our parents proud But the girl in the blue dress, keeps talking through my set And the louder I go, well the louder she gets And I stare at my frets, try to put one or two together that could help me, help me, help me to connect But no matter who I am or where I’m going or what I’ve seen I guess I’ll never impress, the girl with the blue dress.

And I walked it through your house There’s nothing quite like that A small beating of my heart And your Dad’s near heart attack And I can labour it for hours I can labour it for days I can labour it for weeks or months or decades But it doesn’t matter if it never sees the light of day. Look how fucking far we come And I think the hardest part isn’t missing you at all It’s knowing that you don’t miss me And I want to know if you’re doing ok But I want you to know that I’m doing better And I think the hardest part isn’t missing you at all It’s knowing that you don’t miss me And I want to know if you’re doing ok But I want you to know that I’m doing better

And we’re going out with a dull thud And we’re going out with a whimper Anyone who had of done this could have done it better And we’re going out with a dull thud And we’re going out with a whimper Anyone who had of done this could have done it better Couldn’t have done it better Could have done it better Couldn’t have done it better
